North of England Open Air Museum, extensive transport collections, and a lot of other things as well, settings dates are 1913 and 1825 - you will need at least a day to have a proper look around. (Don't forget to Gift Aid!).
Locomotion National Railway Museum at Shildon. Headstocks and replica footplate.
Whitby Historic Lifeboat Trust The owners of the "William Riley", a restored pulling (rowing) lifeboat. Often used to raise funds for the RNLI.
