Magnay and Yates Ltd. provide a specialist, high quality woodworking service concentrating on non-standard timber based items. We have undertaken work involving conservation, restoration and construction of larger projects including railway carriages, boat repairs and outfitting specialist vehicles. We also take on smaller scale commissions which are carried out with the same high level of craftsmanship.
The company was established in November 2006 when demand for the quality of work Peter and Ian could provide allowed them to rent premises and set up a workshop.
These
premises are located in Hadrian Enterprise Park,
Haltwhistle, Northumberland. The unit occupied is
40 feet by 36 feet with access available for large items up to 8.5 feet
wide. Leased as a bare shell the unit has been equipped with a variety
of wood working machinery as well as benches for hand tool use. An area
is set aside for assembly and finishing of large projects.
Health and Safety equipment including dust extraction is to hand to ensure a safe working environment.
There is easy access to the Enterprise Park as it is just a few hundred yards of good quality road to the main A69 Newcastle – Carlisle trunk road, while Haltwhistle Station, on the Newcastle – Carlisle railway is only a few minutes walk away. This allows us great flexibility to move large structures, and is also useful when receiving the large baulks of first quality timber we use for our projects.
